Patchwork Masterpiece: One-of-One Black Mini Dress

Some pieces are made. This one was built. Every patch of this dress was cut, placed and sewn together one by one, entirely by hand, over several days of patient work. Nothing about it is rushed or repeatable, and you can see the care in every seam.

The result is a true labor of love: a black mosaic of patches coming together into a single, striking mini dress. Because it’s pieced together by hand, no other dress like it exists, and none ever will. We’re not making it again.

It’s made from a slightly knit, elastic viscose, so it’s soft, stretchy and light, and moves with your body instead of holding it in place. This is not a heavy winter dress. It’s airy and easy to wear. Though it’s labeled one size, the stretch lets it fit a range of bodies comfortably, from an XS up to an M. The panels can also be adjusted, so you can shape the fit and the length to sit exactly the way you like it.
